Hotel and flight rates have returned to their pre-pandemic levels as travel has recovered. However, according to Expedia, there are cheaper times of the year to book a trip.
According to Expedia’s statement to Travel + Leisure, average airfares will be at their lowest point between December 2020 and January 2021, but they are already on the rise and are almost back to their pre-coronavirus levels.
“The Expedia [Airlines Reporting Corporation] report is the go-to resource for finding cheap flights and hotels every year. It gives readers an insider’s perspective that not only helps them make better decisions, but also allows them to make the most of their trips “Expedia’s vice president of brand marketing, Chandreyi Davis, made these comments in a statement to T + L. “In 2022, we at Expedia hope these suggestions will help travelers dream big and plan incredible journeys.
Expedia suggests booking at least 21 days ahead of quordle time, with the best time being 28–35 days before departure. Sundays are the best days to book, but even doing so will only save you about 5% on domestic flights. However, if you’re flexible, flying on a Friday rather than a Monday could save you more than 15%.
Deals still exist for international flights, with prices about 35% lower than in 2019. Customers can save the most money by booking their trips three to four months in advance, as suggested by Expedia.
In order to save more than 5 percent, Expedia suggests that international travelers schedule their departure on Thursdays rather than Tuesdays. Even though holiday flights can be expensive, there are ways to cut costs. According to Expedia, international travelers can save nearly 20% if they book their trip in August (compared to June) and over 10% if they book their trip in January (compared to June) (compared to December).
Premium economy tickets are also at an all-time low, according to Expedia, costing only about 290 percent more than economy tickets on average in 2021, down from 430 percent in 2019.
Expedia found that guests staying in a four-star property saved nearly 45 percent compared to those staying in a five-star property once they arrived at their destination. On top of that, if you’re traveling internationally, booking a hotel room on a Tuesday will save you almost 10% compared to booking on a Thursday.
