New: MB&F Legacy Machine No2 uses palladium
MB&F high quality replica watches first introduced the LM2 in 18k red gold, 18k white gold and platinum 950 in 2013. The collection launched in 2017 in a limited edition with a titanium case and green dial, then a white and purple version in gold and most recently in red gold and blue in 2018.
For this latest edition, MB&F has brought back the dual balance system found in the LM2, with a new palladium case and an aquamarine sunburst dial in shades of aqua, gray and blue. Other details of the watch are the same as the earlier version.
Legacy Machines are fantastic reinterpretations of important horological inventions by history’s greatest watchmakers. Thus, the otherworldly look of the Legacy Machine No. 2’s twin flying balance wheels, suspended above the dial by four elegantly curved arms, might seem paradoxical at first glance. But make no mistake; the LM2 is a timepiece dating back more than 250 years to three of the greatest watchmakers of all time: Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747–1823), Ferdi Nan Porteau (1727–1807) and Antide Janvier (1751–1835). These 18th-century watch legends were united not only by their inventive genius, but also because they all built timepieces with two balance wheels.fake watches for sale
Oscillating high, the LM2’s distinguished double balance is inspired by, and pays homage to, one of the rarest mechanisms in watchmaking history: the double regulator. Even more rarely, the average speed of the dual regulators of the Legacy Machine No. 2 was transmitted through a differential to a single gear train, most of which had two independent movements.
The dial of the Legacy Machine No. 2 displayed under the domed sapphire crystal dome is actually the top plate of the exquisite movement, an object lesson in symmetry and simplicity. From top to bottom: The white stretch-lacquered subdial at 12 o’clock with its blue hour and minute hands visually balances the large raised differential at 6 o’clock. From left to right: the two flying balances and their escapements are identical mirror images, down to the position of the stud mounts that hold the balance springs.replica luxury watches
While the suspended balance wheel of the binary regulator attracts and holds the viewer’s eye, the real heart of Legacy Machine No. 2 is the large planetary differential located above the dial. In an incredible feat of micro-engineering – there are very few timepieces with multiple regulators connected via a differential, a testament to the enormous difficulty of making such a complex high-precision mechanism – the differential serves three purposes : 1. Transmits power to each regulator; 2. Receives individual time rates from each balance; 3. Transmits the average rate of the two regulators to the gear train, which ultimately manifests itself as displaying the time.
The movement of the Legacy Machine No.2 was developed to MB&F specifications by award-winning watchmaker Jean-François Mojon (Best Watchmaker at the 2010 Grand Prix de Genève) and his team at Chronode. Acclaimed independent watchmaker Kari Voutilainen has ensured that the aesthetics of the movement are in keeping with high-quality traditional timepieces from the 19th century, specifying the highest level of hand-finishing.replica watches for sale
The immaculate Côtes de Genève, gold chatons, mirror-polished bevels and bridges designed with elaborate internal bevels (which a machine cannot do) showcase the movement’s finishing. In addition, the new Palladium version features a new NAC finish in dark anthracite gray, giving this precious timepiece even more personality. In keeping with MB&F’s ethos of transparency, the names of the two individuals responsible for the movement are hand-engraved on the back.
Two and a half centuries after three of the world’s greatest watchmakers incorporated two balance wheels into their movements, MB&F celebrates their groundbreaking creation with the LM2, a two-wheel balance wheel hovering outside the movement.
